Matthew Aboulafia is the principal of the Aboulafia Law Firm LLC and concentrates his practice in insurance related matters and general litigation. Over the past 35 years he has developed a reputation as a tenacious litigator and trial attorney representing thousands of individuals and commercial insureds involved in property damage, life insurance and disability claims against insurance companies, insurance brokers and agents, contractors, real estate developers, property owners, engineers and architects. Matthew also has litigation and trial experience in personal injury matters, real estate, contracts and general litigation.
Prior to starting his own firm in 1992, Matthew practiced commercial litigation at Anes Friedman Leventhal & Balisteri PLLC and in first-party insurance litigation and third-party litigation at Weg & Myers P.C.
Matthew received a BA in Liberal Arts from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and received his Juris Doctorate from St John’s University School of Law. He was admitted to practice before the Courts of the State of New York in 1986 and the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York in 1987. Mr. Aboulafia has also successfully argued before the Appellate Courts of the State of New York on multiple occasions. Further, Mr. Aboulafia has been admitted pro hac vice in a number of cases in various counties throughout the State of New Jersey
Mr. Aboulafia is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and Jewish Lawyers Guild.
